Defending his party colleagues, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), state President Jayant Patil said on Thursday said that his party leader Jitendra Awhad has been actively working to protect the ideology of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar for the last 50 years.
No one who believes in the ideology of Ambedkar has any doubt about Awhad’s loyalty and love for Dr. Babasaheb.
While fighting for the protection of Ambedkari ideas, Awhad accidentally tore Babasaheb’s poster on Wednesday in Mahad when he was agitating against Manusmriti.
After the incident, Patil apologised for it on his social media handle, X.
Patil said he had full confidence that the people will never fall prey to the false propaganda of the opposition.
After the incident, agitations were seen across the state by different political parties and dalit factions. Cases were also registered against Awhad at different places in the state.
