PM flags off Vande Bharat Express for Ranchi-Patna

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off Vande Bharat Express for Ranchi-Patna, connecting two neighbouring states Jharkhand and Bihar, which would enhance quality train connectivity for passengers of the region.

Modi flagged off Vande Bharat Express train through video conferencing. Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Union Minister of state for Education Annpurna Devi, MP from Ranchi Sanjay Seth along with other MPs, MLAs and important dignitaries were present at Ranchi station when PM flagged off the train through video conferencing from Bhopal.

Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Union Minister of state for Education Annpurna Devi, a number of eminent personalities, senior officials of Railways and Jharkhand government were passengers of inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express train. Common man was also allowed in limited number to travel in the train free of cost to celebrate the inaugural run. Altogether 170 school students also enjoyed the journey of semi high-speed train developed using indigenous technology. It will run between Ranchi and Patna six days a week except Tuesday.

Vande Bharat Tain will cover 379 KMs distance from Ranchi to Patna in six hours. Roll out of the semi high speed train marked heralding a new era of comfortable and enhanced rail travel experience. This new and upgraded version of Vande Bharat Express offers superior comfort and convenience for passengers and tourists of Jharkhand and Bihar.

The train has superior passenger amenities such as Onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio vacuum toilets with touch free amenities, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch-based reading lights and concealed roller blinds. ‘ Modern Mini Pantry’ and ‘Talk-Back’ unit for passengers to communicate to crew.

Better heat ventilation and air conditioning system with UV lamp for germ free supply of air. The intelligent air conditioning system adjusts the cooling according to the climate conditions and occupancy.
