PM Modi condoles death of Srinivasan, hails him as stalwart of India’s nuke prog

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing away

of eminent nuclear scientist M R Srinivasan and hailed him as a stalwart of India’s

nuclear energy programme.

In his message, Mr Modi said Dr Srinivasan’s instrumental role in developing critical

nuclear infrastructure has been foundational that ensured India becoming self-reliant

in the energy sector.

“Deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. MR Srinivasan, a stalwart of India’s nuclear

energy program”, the Prime Minister posted on X.

“His instrumental role in developing critical nuclear infrastructure has been foundational

to our being self-reliant in the energy sector. He is remembered for his inspiring leadership

of the Atomic Energy Commission”, Mr Modi said.

“India will always be grateful to him for advancing scientific progress and mentoring many

young scientists”, he added.

“My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour. Om Shanti”, Mr Modi wrote.
