Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a brief visit to Jalgaon in Maharashtra on August 25.
An official press statement issued on Saturday stated that Modi will participate in the Lakhpati Didi meeting at around 1115 hours in the morning in Jalgaon.
He will honour and give certificates to the new 11 lakh millionaires, who recently became millionaires during the third tenure of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Apart from this, he will also interact with Lakhpati Didis across the country online.
The Prime Minister will release a revolving fund of Rs 2,500 crore, which will benefit around 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs). It will also disburse a bank loan of Rs 5,000 crore which will benefit 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh SHGs.
Since inception of Lakhpati Didi Yojana, one crore women have already become Lakhpati Didis. The central government aims to make three crore women Lakhpati Didis.
Meanwhile, administration has made all arrangements for the PM’s function, while the police department has made tight security arrangement at the venue of the event.
