Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Dilip Jaiswal said that postage stamps collection is not just a hobby but is a unique collection of history, art and culture.
While addressing the philatelic exhibition BPEX-2024 organized by the Postal Department at Gyan Bhawan here on Saturday, Jaiswal said that such events not only inspire postage stamp collections but was an important medium for apprising people about cultural heritages and historical events.
He said each and every postage stamp has a history which tells about the Socio Political and cultural scenario of a particular era.
The minister lauded the efforts of the chief Postmaster General Anil Kumar for organising such exhibitions and said that philately has a valuable heritage.
He said that the world’s first postage stamp of copper is a prime attraction in the exhibition and added that the Postal department was transforming the dreams of the Prime Minister of digital India into reality.
