Prez Murmu mourns tragic accident in Karnataka’s Haveri district


 President Droupadi Murmu expressed her deep sorrow over a tragic road accident in Haveri district that claimed the lives of 13 people on Friday, including women and children.

In a message shared via Twitter, she stated, “It is saddening to learn of the deaths of several pilgrims, including women and children, in a bus accident in Karnataka’s Haveri district. I offer my condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

The mishap occurred when the van collided with a parked truck at Gundenahalli cross in Byadagi Taluk early on Friday, police said. The President’s heartfelt message comes as solace to the grieving families and underscores the nation’s collective mourning.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
