Punjab: 9 killed, 6 injured as pickup van collides with tanker in Ferozepur

 Nine persons were killed and 6 others injured when a pickup van, in which they were travelling, collided with a tanker in Ferozepur village of Punjab on Friday.

Police sources said that the pickup van, carrying about 15 persons who work as waiters in marriage functions, lost control and collided with a tanker near Mohan-Ke-Utad village on Ferozepur-Fazilka road.

Police with the help of locals rushed the injured to nearby hospitals.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Sadak Surakhiya Force (SSF) and Police acted swiftly ensuring rescue operation and medical aid within the golden hour. He said that police teams with the help of good samaritans played a crucial role in saving lives.
