An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the Bay of Bengal near Odisha’s Puri early on Tuesday morning, with tremors being felt in Kolkata and several regions of West Bengal, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
According to the NCS, the earthquake occurred at 6.10 a.m. on Tuesday at a depth of 91 km in the Bay of Bengal.
The impact of the quake was also felt in the Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, and Paradip areas of the state.
So far, no reports of any damage have been reported from anywhere.
