He called for removing the fifty percent cap on reservation.

Indian National Congress, quoting Rahul Gandhi at Washington DC said on X that “I have been repeatedly saying that we are going to increase reservation beyond 50 percent. We want to understand what’s going on and then we are going to apply a series of policies to correct it and reservation is one of them”.

He said that caste is a central and fundamental issue in India.

“The Congress party, even before independence, has always fought for the idea that India should be a fair country. The idea is that all citizens of India should be treated the same way.
