Rahul to hold dialogues with students in Bihar on May 15: Kanhaiya

Date:

National in-charge of NSUI and firebrand Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar said on Tuesday that party leader Rahul Gandhi would hold dialogues with students of Bihar on May 15 and raise issues of their concern regarding quality education and jobs.

Kanhaiya told media persons here that his party had decided to hold dialogues with students named as Shiksha Nyaya Sanvad for taking feedback on their grievances and raising them vigorously in public to pressurise the government for its redressal. Students were being meted out all sorts of injustice under the Nitish Kumar government regime in Bihar, he added.

” Top Congress leader will kick off programme of the party of dialogues with students by addressing them in Darbhanga on May 15 “, the Congress leader said, adding that 62 national leaders of the party would also be holding such dialogues with students at different places in Bihar. Grievances of SC, ST, and OBC students would be discussed during the dialogue so that their issues could be raised vigorously, he added.

Some of the issues that Congress has decided to raise are- lack of educational infrastructural facilities, lifting the upper limit of 50 percent reservation in government jobs, diversion of funds meant for SC and ST students, and opening of a degree college in every block of Bihar. Appointment of regular teachers in universities and maintaining academic calendar are other issues, the party has planned to raise for mobilising students to its fold in the next Bihar assembly elections to be held in October-November this year.
