Rijiju chairs DISHA meeting, reviews progress of development projects in Tawang

The third Quarter District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Tawang district was held today at the NIC Conference Hall, DC Office, Tawang.

The meeting was virtually chaired by Union Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Minister cum Arunachal West MP Kiren Rijiju and attended in person by Deputy Commissioner Namgyal

Angmo, Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Leki Gombu, and heads of departments involved

in the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).

Addressing the Committee members, Rijiju lauded the Tawang district administration and stakeholders for their consistent efforts in effectively implementing government schemes and ensuring proper fund utilization.

Being the chairman of the DISHA Committee, he reiterated his commitment to overseeing development across all 17 districts of his parliamentary constituency.

Earlier, DC Namgyal Angmo, in her welcome address, highlighted the significance of the meeting

as a platform to assess progress, realign development priorities, and address challenges in the implementation of both centrally sponsored and state-funded programmes.

ZPC Leki Gombu informed the Union Minister that the status of various ongoing projects had been thoroughly reviewed during the recently held two-day District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting.

He expressed appreciation for the Union Minister’s participation in the DISHA meeting, reaffirming

the district’s commitment to the effective execution of developmental schemes.

A comprehensive presentation on the status of CSS implementation was delivered by Assistant Commissioner cum Ex-Officio Deputy Director of Rural Development, Tawang, Tenzin Jambey, highlighting key indicators and performance across sectors.

The meeting concluded with actionable directives and renewed commitments from all stakeholders

to ensure the timely completion and transparent execution of development projects aimed at improving the livelihoods and well-being of the people of Tawang.
