Seven persons were killed and one injured when a jeep rammed into a stationary truck in Baberu area of Banda district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police official said here on Friday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the road accident and has directed the officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinandan said that Kallu (13), a resident of Tilausa village under Kamasin police station, sustained injuries after being electrocuted late on Thursday night. “While Kallu was being brought to the community health center by his family members, the jeep in which they were travelling rammed into the stationary truck near Kachendu village,” he said.
He said that Shaqeel (25), Musahid (24), Mohammad Kaif (18), Saira Bano (38) and Kallu were killed on the spot in the incident. “While Raj Bahadur Khangar (30) died at the community health center, one Jahir (25) was taken to the district hospital where he died on Friday morning,” Mr Abhinandan said.
The SP said the injured Jahid (27) has been admitted to Durgawati medical college where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
