Shamima Jahan takes oath as Gauhati High Court Additional Judge

Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court.

Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court Vijay Bishnoi administered the oath to Shamima Jahan in a ceremonial function held at the High Court premises.

Shamima Jahan’s appointment follows a notification issued by the Central Government on May 26, which announced the appointments of seven advocates across the country as judges of various High Courts.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Shamima Jahan’s appointment as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court in 2024.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, judges, senior advocates, and members of the Bar, who welcomed the appointment and extended their best wishes to Justice Shamima Jahan. UNI AS SSP
