Stalin announces Anna medals for 129 officers in police, other Uniformed Services

 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced Anna Medals

for 129 officers of police and other uniformed services personnel to mark the 116th birth

anniversary late CM C N Annadurai.

An official release said in recognition of outstanding devotion to duty of the Police, Fire

and Rescue Services, Prisons and Correctional Services, Home Guards and Finger

Print Science Officers/personnel in the State and also to encourage them, the Tamil Nadu

Chief Minister’s medals are announced every year on the occasion of Dr.Anna’s Birthday,

being celebrated today.

This year, the Chief Minister have ordered award of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna

Medal to 100 Police Officers/Personnel from the rank of Head Constable to Superintendent

of Police, 10 Fire and Rescue Service Personnel/Officers from the rank of Fireman to Deputy

Director, 10 Prisons and Correctional Services Personnel/Officers from the rank of Grade-I

Warder to Assistant Jailor, 5 Home Guards Officers/personnel from the rank of Assistant

Platoon Commander to Company Commander and 2 Officers from Finger Print Science

Unit in the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police in recognition of their outstanding

devotion to duty.

Further, S.Manthiramoorthi, Leading Fireman and A.Ramachandran, Fireman Srivaikundam

Fire and Rescue Services Station, Tuticorin District are awarded the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s

Fire Services Medal for Gallantry (Anna Medal) for their bravery and dedication to rescue

approximately 448 people from the flooded villages and brought them to safer places.

The rescue operation was challenged and carried out in extremely dangerous situation, as

the floodwaters breached the Tamirabarani River banks on the night of December 18, 2023.

These medals will be presented by the Chief Minister at a Ceremonial Medal Parade to be

held in due course.
