‘Temples must be under control of Hindus’: Sadhguru

Date:

On the Dharam Sansad being organised under the leadership of Devaki Nanadan Thakur Ji at Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh, Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev on Monday stated unequivocally that “temples must be under the control of Hindus, and no one else.”

Sadhguru emphasised the urgent need to liberate Hindu temples from government control, calling the current situation, where government clerks perform pujas, counterproductive. “Government intervention in the administration of Hindu temples is harmful to our practices,” he said, adding that such a situation has become widespread in many parts of the country.

The Spiritual leader urged the gathering of sages and leaders to take collective action to restore control of the temples to the Hindu community, asserting, “This is an essential step in ensuring the freedom and integrity of our practices.”

He underscored the crucial role of Sanatan Dharma in the future of the world, describing it as “the only universal approach to human well-being” and the key to global harmony. Sadhguru stressed that Sanatan should not be merely preserved but nurtured to allow it to flourish and become an integral part of human existence across generations.

“The preservation of Sanatan is not enough. It must be nurtured, allowed to flourish, and become a universal part of human existence,” he said and further urged the protection of Hindu institutions, including goshalas, gurukulas, and shrines, while noting that empowering Sanatan is paramount to ensuring its relevance in the modern world.

The Spiritual leader offered his full support to the leaders of the Dharam Sansad and expressed confidence that their collective wisdom would lead to the restoration of Hindu temple autonomy.

The Dharam Sansad at the Maha Kumbh has emerged as a crucial platform for discussions on the preservation and empowerment of Sanatan Dharma, bringing together spiritual leaders and influential figures from across the nation.
