Top cop suspends head constable of police station in Jammu for not maintaining record

) The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jammu-Samba- Kathua Range Dr. Sunil Gupta paid a surprise visit to Police Station Janipur here and suspended a head constable for not maintaining the official record.

A police official here on Saturday said that the DIG paid a surprise visit to the police station and inspected the MHC room, malkhana, hawalat, barracks of jawans etc.

During the inspection, the top cop stressed upon the SDPO, SHO and other staff to maintain the cleanliness of the Police Station and other surrounding area and to maintain extra vigil in their area of responsibility in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He also directed the concerning officers for redressal of public grievances in a time bound manner and special focus be given towards female complainants and special attention be given to the NDPS Act, road accident and land dispute cases.

The official added that the DIG also checked record registers of NCR , Mahila Desk, Cyber, CCTV, NDPS, land dispute, tyohar etc, and found most of them not properly maintained.

In view of this, the MHC (Munshi) of Police Station Janipur is recommended for suspension.

In this regard, he said that the Departmental Inquiry is also ordered against SHO Janipur for his poor supervision and a show cause notice is being issued against SDPO Jammu West.
