Two die, 15 injured in road accident in Kolhapur’s Ratnagiri

Two people, including a 17-year-old girl, died and 15 others were injured during the ‘Ganesh immersion procession’ at Pacheri Agar in Guhagar tehsil of Ratnagiri district early Friday morning.

According to police, while an immersion procession of Ganesh idols was in process at Pacheri Agar village in Guhagar tehsil, a speedy tempo barged into the procession following its break failure and injured 15.

In this incident, two people, including a 17-year-old girl and tempo driver, were killed, while 15 others were injured.

While the tempo driver was trying to stop the tempo by coming out of the tempo, he fell under the tempo wheel and was crushed under the wheels, while the girl, who sat in the tempo, died following a head injury. Injured people were admitted to the Aabloli rural hospital.

Police identified deceased as Komal Narayan Bhuvad (17) and Deepak Laxman Bhuvad (48). The police are investigating further.
