Union budget for FY 2023-24 disappointing : Cong’s Pratibha Singh

Date:

Expressing disappointment over the union budget for the financial year 2023-24 presented in the Lok Sabha by union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman Wednesday, State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh said it will neither improve the country’s economy nor achieve growth rate.

It is completely directionless, due to which unemployment and inflation will increase in the country, she added.

Giving her reaction on the Union Budget, Pratibha Singh termed it as anti-people and said in today’s era of inflation, an unsuccessful attempt has been made to woo the employees. He said the tax exemption of up to seven lakhs to the employees should have been increased to at least 12 lakhs.

Pratibha Singh said special schemes should have been given in the budget for the development of hilly states like Himachal, but nothing like this has been done. Hill areas have been neglected in the budget, she claimed. The agriculture and horticulture sector has been completely ignored. “There is no proposal of any plan for the development of railways in Himachal in the budget, which is very sad. This budget has once again disappointed the people of the state” she opined.
