Three labourers were killed when the wall of a house collapsed in Balua area on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the foundation of one Sandeep Yadav, a resident of Prabhupur, was being dug. “While the labourers were removing the bricks of the foundation wall of Sandeep’s neighbour Chandra Bhan Dwivedi and three workers were buried under the debris,” they said.
Police sources said that the labourers, who got buried under the debris, were rescued by the police with the help of the villagers and taken to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. “The victims have been identified as Pradeep, his brother Sandeep and Rajesh,” they said.
Senior officers, including Superintendent of Police (SP) reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Meanwhile Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over loss of lives in the incident. He has announced a financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the victims.
