Two women were killed and three others injured after being run over by a train while crossing railway track at Balamau railway station in Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place early in the morning when five passengers were crossing the railway track to change the platform.
“Due to dense fog the passengers failed to spot the run through train and were run over by it,” they said.
Police sources said that Anita, a resident of Lakhimpur district and Anita, a resident of Sitapur district, were killed in the incident.
“Pramod Kumar, Shakeel Ahmed and Ali Moon, all residents of Sitapur, were seriously injured in the incident and have been admitted to the community health center,” they said.
