Main accused of the infamous Bikru case Vikas Dubey, his brother Avinash Dubey, Deepu Dubey and their brother-in-law Dinesh Tiwari were sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment and penalty of Rs 5,000 each in a 21-year-old Gangster Act case, prosecution sources said here on Friday.
While Vikash Dubey and Avinash Dubey have died, the third brother Deepu Dubey is already lodged in Lucknow jail. Their brother-in-law Dinesh Tiwari has been sent to jail after the court pronounced its order.
The prosecution sources said that the Shivli police took action against Vikas, his brothers Avinash, Deepu and brother-in-law Dinesh Tiwari after the murder of former principal Siddheshwar Pandey and rioting. “Hearing in the case was completed in the court of Special Judge Gangster Act on December 21 and the court pronounced its order on Thursday,” they said.
Special Public Prosecutor Amar Singh Bhadauria said that as Vikas and Avinash had died their file was separated from the main case. “The court has sentenced Vikas’s brother Deepu and brother-in-law Dinesh Tiwari to five years rigorous imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 5,000 each,” he said.
