Jammu and Kashmir government fired four employees, including wife of Farooq Ahmed Dar aka Bitta Karate infamous for killing of of Kashmiri Pandits, besides Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin’s son.
The UT government invoked Article 311 for the removal of Bitta’s wife Assabah Khan and Syed Abdul Mueed and the two others due to their alleged involvement in anti-national activities, officials said on Saturday.
The other sacked employees are two officials of Kashmir University
Officials said the activities of these employees had come to the adverse notice of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as they have been found involved in activities prejudicial to the interests of the security of the State.
They said a committee constituted for scrutinizing the inputs, records and cognizable material recommended dismissal of Dr. Muheet Ahmad Bhat, Scientist-D in Post-Graduate Department of Computer Science, University of Kashmir; Majid Hussain Qadri, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, University of Kashmir,
Syed Abdul Mueed was Manager, IT, JKEDI and Assabah-ul-Arjamand Khan, a KAS officer was DPO, Publicity, Directorate of Rural Development, Kashmir.

Under the Article 311 provisions government employees can be dismissed when the President or the Lt Governor is satisfied that in the “interest of the security of the state it is not expedient to hold such an inquiry.”
The only available remedy to terminated employees is to challenge the government’s decision in the High Court.
Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone registered his disagreement over the sacking.
“Every citizen of India has his or her own rights. A son cannot be held responsible for his father or wife for her husband or a father for his son. Sad – that kinship is used as a justification to sack people. This simply is not good. In all humility I register my disagreement,” Lone said.
