RLM leader and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, contesting from Karakat parliamentary seat as an NDA candidate is confident of his victory and claimed that the margin of the victory would improve this time.
While talking to a section of media in Dehri Kushwaha reacted to the decision of Bhojpuri film star and singer Pawan Singh to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Karakat and said that the presence of Singh would hardly have any impact on the elections. He said everything was moving on the right track and the people of every class were in his support as they all wished Narendra Modi to continue as Prime Minister of the country.
Pawan Singh had recently joined the BJP with the hope that the party would field him from a seat of his choice. The party had decided to field him from Asansol which Pawan Singh did not accept and suddenly announced on social media site X to contest the election from Karakat Loksabha seat.
Pawan Singh has immense fan following among youth and in Karakat nearly 30000 voters were in the age group of 18 to 19 and nearly 1.75 lakh in the age group of 18 to 25.
Pawan Singh who belongs to the forward class was keeping an eye on the forward voters whose strength in the constituency is considerable.
The fight in the Karakat seat was considered to be between the NDA candidate Upendra Kushwaha and CPIML candidate Rajaram Singh of the grand alliance.
Now with the entry of Pawan Singh in the fray, the contest was turning to be triangular.
Earlier in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections Upendra Kushwaha was defeated by a margin of 84000 votes from JDU candidate Mahabali Singh. Kushwaha won the general parliamentary elections from Karakat seat in 2014 by defeating Kanti Singh of RJD.
