Agartala, 5th January 2026: The annual seven-day special camp of the National Service Scheme (NSS) commenced today at PM Shri Radha Kishore Institution, creating a festive atmosphere on the school premises and sparking enthusiasm among students.
The camp was formally inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Rajesh Debbarma, Deputy Director of Education, Unakoti district. The opening event was graced by Amit Yadav, Officer from the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports; Chapla Debroy, Chairperson of Kailashahar Municipal Council; Headmaster Nitish Biswas; and Bhaskar Ghosh Adhikari, Chairman of the school’s management committee.
Speaking on the significance of NSS, Program Officer and teacher Krishna Majumdar emphasized, “Service to humanity is the core ideal of NSS.” She highlighted that the NSS unit of PM Shri Radha Kishore Institution has been actively engaged in various social welfare activities throughout the year.
Other speakers elaborated on the objectives and social responsibilities of NSS, urging students to take part in community service initiatives. Over the next seven days, the camp will feature awareness sessions, social activities, and practical programs designed to instill discipline, humanitarian values, and the spirit of service among students.
The inaugural day concluded with a vibrant cultural program presented by the students, adding to the celebratory spirit of the occasion.
