Indian discuss thrower Navjeet Kaur Dhillon, has been banned for three years after testing positive for a Prohibited Substance, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said.
Dhillon, a 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, had tested positive for a metabolite of the anabolic steroid Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone (DHCMT), AIU said on Friday.
DHCNT is a Prohibited Substance under the WADA 2022 Prohibited List under the category S1: Anabolic agents. It is a Non-Specified Substance prohibited at all times.
The 27-year-old ahtlete wrote to the AIU on August 23 stating that she had used a supplement that,
unknown to her, contained a prohibited substance.
The Athlete also returned an Admission of Anti-Doping Rule Violations and Acceptance of Consequences Form signed to confirm that she admitted the Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) and accepted the consequences specified in the Notice of Allegation.
The period of ineligibility to be imposed is therefore a period of four (4) years but Navjeet benefited with a one-year reduction in the period of ban as she admitted the ADRV and accepted the sanction.
