2 dead, 9 injured in road accident in east Kyrgyzstan

Two people were killed and nine injured in a collision between a passenger minibus and a car in the Issyk-Kul region in eastern Kyrgyzstan, said local police Monday.

The accident occurred on the Karakol-Tyup road on Sunday when a car lost control due to icy conditions and drove into the oncoming lane before colliding with the minibus.

Both drivers died on site and nine people were hospitalized, said the police.
