A pre-dawn fire razed through a house in the Philippine capital region on Thursday, killing at least four trapped residents, the Bureau of Fire Protection said.
The bureau said the fire broke out at around 4:00 a.m. local time at a populous village in the northwestern Taguig City.
Firefighters struggled to enter the village due to narrow alleys, prompting residents to help extinguish the fire. The blaze was put out 40 minutes later, the bureau said.
An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway, it said.
