An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted 48 km ENE of Noda, Japan at 0438GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 63.4 km, was initially determined to be at 40.30 degrees north latitude and 142.33 degrees east longitude.
