An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted Kermadec Islands region at 0341 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 35.0 km, was initially determined to be at 29.19 degrees south latitude and 176.93 degrees west longitude.
