6 killed, 3 injured in road accident in east Pakistan

Date:

Six people lost their lives, and three others sustained serious injuries in a road accident late Friday night in Faisalabad district of Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province, a rescue official said.

Spokesperson of the state-run Rescue 1122 said that the accident occurred when a speeding car collided with the rear of a tractor-trolley near the Tandlianwala Motorway Interchange.

The car driver reportedly failed to maintain a safe distance due to heavy fog blanketing the area, added the spokesperson.

According to the official, Rescue teams and police promptly arrived at the site and found that the collision resulted in the immediate deaths of six individuals, including three women and three children.

Rescue teams transported the bodies and injured to nearby hospitals, where the wounded remain in critical condition.

Dense fog continues to pose significant hazards for motorists, causing serious disruption to communication in Punjab.
