Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may pay an official visit to the United States in the second half of May if there are no changes in the presidential schedule, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Erdogan’s trip may come after the recent series of high-level visits between Turkish and US officials, which have paved the way for a possible meeting between Erdogan and US President Joe Biden, the newspaper reported.
The Turkish leader’s visit to Washington is expected to take place if there are no disruptions and “strict restrictions” on his schedule related to the US electoral process, the report said.
