Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit the United States from November 15 to 19 to attend the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said on Tuesday.
“Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit San Francisco from November 15-19 to attend the APEC summit. At the APEC summit, he will hold active discussions on strengthening supply chains, digital technologies and climate action, in addition to promoting free and open foreign trade and investment,” Matsuno said at a press conference.
Kishida will also “clearly express” Japan’s position on Russia regarding the situation in Ukraine, Matsuno added. In addition, the Japanese prime minister will take part in the summit of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, Matsuno said.
The secretary added that Kishida is also expected to speak at Stanford University and meet with representatives of Google and semiconductor manufacturers.
