Sri Lankan Ministry of Energy has announced that the fuel distribution programme under the National Fuel Pass QR system will not be implemented as scheduled on Monday.
Only few fuel stations will be distribution fuel under the code system on Monday.
Colombo Page quoted Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) as saying that under the current situation, the program is still being implemented as a pilot project at some fuel stations.
The ICTA pointed out that the programme will be implemented across the country in few days.
On Sunday, Minister Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said the National Fuel Pass QR code system was successfully tested at 20 locations island-wide on 4,708 vehicles, Colombo Page reported.
At least 3.5 million individuals are registered for the National Fuel Pass.
