UAE prez arrives in Kazan for BRICS summit

Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, has arrived in Kazan to participate in the BRICS summit, the press service of the head of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan said on Wednesday.

“President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Kazan to participate in the BRICS summit. He was welcomed at the international airport by the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov,” the statement read.

The UAE joined BRICS on January 1, following the summit held in South Africa last year. The country views its BRICS membership as a strategic opportunity to expand trade and access new markets.

The BRICS summit is being held in Russia’s Kazan from October 22-24. According to the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan, more than 30 countries have confirmed their participation in the summit.
