US Navy fighter jet shot down by friendly fire over Red Sea: media reports

A US Navy F/A-18 fighter jet was shot down by friendly fire over the Red Sea, Sputnik news reported, citing the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to the publication, the F/A-18 fighter jet that took off from the deck of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier during an attack on Houthi targets came under fire.

The two pilots ejected, survived, one of them receive minor injuries, it said.
