NAAC Peer Team visit Dasaratha Deb Memorial College, Khowai

Agartala, December 14, 2022: A three-member NAAC Peer Team comprising of Dr Ramachandra Gowda Muninarayana, Vice Chancellor, Rani Channamma University; Dr Basant Kumar Das, Dean/Director IQAC, IIMT University Meerut; and Dr Manish Pandya, Principal, Tolani Commerce College visited Dasaratha Deb Memorial College, Khowai on Tuesday and Wednesday to assess and accredit the college for NAAC Cycle 2 Accreditation.

The visit began on Tuesday last at 10 AM with a grand reception by the Principal, staff and students in traditional dresses forming a human chain. The team visited all the facilities and inspected documents and also met with the Parents, Alumni and students of the college and took their feedback on various issues related to the development of the college.

A luncheon meeting was organised in the college on Tuesday last with the NAAC Peer Team and the DM and Collector of the Khowai district, Director of the Higher Education department, Chairperson of the Tripura State Higher Education Council, Director of the IQAC in Tripura University and the Principal of college.

A colourful cultural programme showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of Tripura mesmerized the NAAC Peer Team.

During the exit meeting on Wednesday, the Chairperson of the NAAC Peer Team has highlighted the importance of assessment and accreditation process of NAAC and emphasized on the role and social responsibilities of the stakeholders. He also appreciated the student centric approach of the college.

Dr BC Das, Principal of the DDM College in his welcome address appreciated the feedback and suggestions of the peer team during the 2 days visit.

Dr Abhijit Debbarma, Coordinator of the NAAC Committee in DDM College proposed the vote of thanks and has appreciated the efforts of the entire team of the college in making this visit a success.

The results of this visit will be declared by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore is an autonomous body and is mainly concerned with evaluation and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions in India.
