Agartala, 5th July 2025:  Tripura’s former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb launched a sharp attack on the Left parties while attending a religious function organised by ISKCON Agartala on the occasion of the return of Rath Yatra this morning. The event saw the presence of Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, MP Biplab Kumar Deb and Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.

Addressing the gathering, Deb said, “The people of Tripura do not want communists. That is why they have been driven out.” He accused the previous Left Front government of disrespecting Hindu traditions and religious leaders.

“During the Communist rule, Hindu priests and Gosai Babas were insulted. Priests were removed from temples, and even ISKCON was not spared. But we believe all religions are equal in Tripura. We do not despise any faith,” Deb said.

Taking a swipe at the Left’s political future, Deb added, “If Maharaj Pradyot and I stay in Tripura, these Leftists will never come back to power again.”

Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to public welfare, he said, “I have instructed my party workers to stand by the people with honesty and devotion.” Emphasising the central government’s role, Deb stated, “If the people of Tripura want development, it is possible only through the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The trust in Modi is deep, and it will remain unwavering.”

The function, which marked the return of Lord Jagannath’s chariot, was attended by hundreds of devotees and featured cultural and devotional programs throughout the morning.
