Agartala, 15th July 2025: In a major step towards enhancing the state’s education and healthcare systems, the Tripura Cabinet on Tuesday approved the recruitment of 1,658 personnel across key departments.
Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Cabinet spokesperson and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the decision includes fresh appointments in both the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Education Department.
“To strengthen dental care services in the state, the Cabinet has approved the recruitment of six Dental Medical Officers through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC),” said Chowdhury.
He further announced a significant move in the education sector with the approval for recruitment of 915 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) for Classes 11 and 12. The recruitment, to be carried out by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), aims to address the shortage of subject specialists in higher secondary schools. Eligible candidates must have a postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks along with a B.Ed qualification.
Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation and recruitment of 700 Graduate Teacher posts for Classes 9 and 10 under the Directorate of Secondary Education. These positions will be filled on a fixed pay basis.
Under the Higher Education Department, the Cabinet has also approved the recruitment of 37 academic and administrative posts for the National Law University. These include Professors, Associate and Assistant Professors, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Registrar. The university will conduct its own recruitment process in accordance with its institutional rules.
“These decisions reflect the government’s commitment to bolstering the quality of education and healthcare services across the state,” Chowdhury added.
