Agartala, 19th July 2025: In an inspiring feat of endurance and environmental advocacy, 59-year-old Ajay Saha of Dhaleswar, Agartala was felicitated today by the Shreshtha Bhuvan Samajik Sansthan for successfully completing a 4,760 km bicycle journey from Agartala to Leh-Ladakh.
Saha embarked on his solo ride on May 1, 2025, pedaling through varied terrains for 60 days on a standard bicycle. His journey was not only a physical triumph but a personal mission to promote health consciousness, environmental preservation, and financial prudence.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, attended by the organization’s founder Biplab Kanti Bhowmik and fellow members, Saha emphasized the importance of cycling as a sustainable mode of transport. “This journey was my humble message to the younger generation—ride a bicycle, stay healthy, keep pollution at bay, and save your hard-earned money,” he said.
The ceremony served as both recognition of his achievement and a celebration of his advocacy for a cleaner, healthier future.
