Agartala, 23rd July 2025: In a commendable display of civic responsibility, employees of ONGC Tripura organized a voluntary blood donation camp on Wednesday, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen the culture of blood donation in the state.
The camp, held under the banner of ‘ONGC Employees’ of Tripura’, witnessed enthusiastic participation and drew praise from several dignitaries who attended the event, including Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumder, Badharghat MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) State Secretary Nilratan Sarkar.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Majumder underlined the significance of such initiatives in ensuring sufficient blood stock in Tripura’s hospitals and blood banks. He applauded ONGC employees for their proactive role and emphasized the growing positive trend of blood donation in the state, which he attributed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s continuous advocacy for voluntary donation as a social movement.
“Blood donation must be seen as a celebration of humanity,” the Mayor remarked, calling for regular awareness campaigns to dispel longstanding myths and fears associated with the practice. He reiterated that blood donation is a safe and noble act, essential for saving lives.
The Mayor also commended the ONGC workforce for their commitment beyond the call of duty. “Such acts of compassion and civic engagement set a valuable precedent for the rest of society,” he added.
