Agartala, 7th August 2025: The 3rd Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) has suspended a Ward Boy after a video surfaced showing a uniformed TSR personnel kicking a man sitting on a road in Agartala.
The incident, which quickly circulated on social media, prompted swift action from the TSR authorities. The suspended individual, identified as Ward Boy Suman Das, was posted in Agartala under the Traffic Department.
Binoy Debbarma, Commandant of the 3rd Battalion Tripura State Rifles, stated in the order that disciplinary proceedings against Ward Boy Suman Das of the 3rd Battalion TSR are being contemplated.
“NOW, THEREFORE, the undersigned, being the appointing authority, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule-10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965 read with Rule-43 of the Tripura State Rifles (DCSC, etc.) Rules, 1988, hereby places the said No. 02091055 E/F (Ward Boy) Suman Das under suspension with immediate effect,” the order reads.
It further states that during the period this order remains in force, the headquarters of (Ward Boy) Suman Das shall be 3 Bn TSR, Kachucherra, and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the undersigned.
