Agartala, 7th August 2025:   CITU on Thursday staged a protest outside the West District Magistrate’s office, alleging administrative failure led to the death of lorry driver Mihir Lal Debnath.

CITU leader Manik Dey stated that Debnath, a driver from Dashda Kanchanpur, lost control of his cement-laden lorry at Chakmaghat in Teliamura and succumbed to injuries after battling for hours as the administration has failed to rescue him.

He slammed the BJP-led administration, claiming despite huge spending on disaster management, the response was absent when it mattered most.

CITU demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.
