Agartala, 12th August 2025:   A daring burglary at Sabroom Higher Secondary School has left the local community shaken, after miscreants broke into the premises under the cover of darkness and fled with cash and other valuables. The incident came to light early this morning, has prompted swift police action and raised serious concerns about the school’s security infrastructure.

It is reported that the teachers arriving at the school discovered multiple rooms with broken locks as they unlocked the main gate. Authorities were immediately alerted, and officers from Sabroom Police Station, along with Headmaster Dilip Das, rushed to the scene.

Upon inspection, police and school officials found that classroom doors, office rooms, and laboratory entrances had all been forcibly opened. Several cupboards inside the rooms were also found damaged, indicating a thorough ransacking.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the thieves made off with a sum of cash kept on the premises. However, the full extent of the stolen items is yet to be determined. Police have launched an investigation but have not made any arrests so far.

The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents, especially given the school’s lack of basic security measures. Notably, the historic institution located in the heart of Sabroom subdivision has no CCTV surveillance, boundary wall or night guard.
