Agartala, 12th August 2025:   Dr. Kiran Kumar officially took charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) for Gomati district this morning, marking his first day with a visit to Radha Kishorepur police station.

Upon arrival, Dr. Kumar received a ceremonial salute and conducted a thorough inspection of the station’s various departments. During his visit, he expressed concern over the deteriorating state of traffic management in Udaipur, the district headquarters.

He noted the absence of traffic personnel at designated points and flagged irregularities in roadside collections from vehicles during shift changes.

“The traffic system in Udaipur needs urgent restructuring,” Dr. Kumar stated, adding that an elaborate plan is underway to revamp the local traffic infrastructure.

In line with the Tripura Chief Minister’s vision of a drug-free state, Dr. Kumar also emphasized his commitment to making Gomati district free from narcotics. “We are determined to implement the Chief Minister’s mission here in Gomati. A drug-free district is not just a goal, it’s a necessity,” he said.
