20-day Civil Defense training programme concludes at Panisagar

Agartala, 17th August 2025:  A 20-day residential basic training programme for Civil Defence volunteers concluded yesterday at the indoor hall of Panisagar College of Physical Education. The initiative was jointly organized by the North District Disaster Management Authority and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Panisagar.

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Collector Dibakar Jamatia, Deputy Collector Abhishek Chakraborty, District Project Manager Vivek Das and District-Level Master Trainer Gautam Shukla Baidya among other dignitaries.

The programme began on July 28 inaugurated by Panisagar MLA Binoy Bhushan Das. A total of 383 male and female volunteers from Dharmanagar, Panisagar and Kanchanpur subdivisions participated. The training was divided into four batches each undergoing five days of intensive instruction. Volunteers received both theoretical and practical training, with sessions held daily at the indoor hall and field exercises conducted at separate locations.

Each batch was evaluated by trainers upon completion, and certificates were awarded to participants during the closing ceremony. The final batch received their certificates from attending officials and trainers.

The programme aimed to equip volunteers with essential skills to respond effectively to natural disasters in Tripura. Organizers expressed confidence that the trained Civil Defence volunteers will play a proactive role in future emergency situations across the state.
