Project worth Rs 30 cr sent to centre for 211 hostels : Rampada

Agartala, January 04, 2022: Tribal Welfare minister Rampada Jamatia on Wednesday said that a project worth Rs 30 crore has been sent to the central government to provide education through smart classes in 211 hostels of the state.

While inaugurating the ST Students Hostel of Sister Nivedita Higher Secondary Girls’ School in Udaipur on Wednesday, Jamatia said that the state government is giving priority to the development of education in the entire state and free coaching has been arranged for the children of indigenous areas.

Speaking at the event, Sabhadipati of Gomati Zilla Parishad Swapan Adhikari said that the state government has taken multi-pronged plans for overall development of the education system and is implementing them.

TW department Additional Director of Anandhari Jamatia delivered the welcome address on the occasion and Chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Council Shital Chandra Majumdar presided over the programme.

Tourism Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, PWD department Supervising Engineer Ratan Chowdhury and others were present in the event. It is noteworthy to mention that Rs 1 crore 99 lakh 40 thousand has been spent on the construction of the students’ hostel.
