Prez Murmu to visit TN on Sep 2, 3, security beefed up

President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Tamil Nadu on a
two-day visit on September two and three and police have made heightened security
arrangements in view of her visit.
Ms Murmu will take part in a function at Chennai Trade Centre here on September two
afternoon and lezve for Tiruchirapllai the next day from where she would leave for Tiruvarur
to attend the Convocation of Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN).
A police release here today said “the Hon’ble President of India will be visiting Chennai on
2-9-2025 & 3-9-2025 and attending a function at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam
on 2-9-2025 afternoon.”
“The VVIP will be leaving Chennai to Trichy by IAF BBJ on 3-9-2025. The VVIP will stay
at Raj Bhavan, Guindy”, it said.
The promulgation of orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita,
2023 and sub-section (2) of Section 14 of BNSS, 2023 prohibiting use of drones, remote
controlled micro-light aircrafts, para gliders, Para Motors, Hand gliders, Hot air balloons etc.,
is already in force from August 23 to October 21, 2025 in Greater Chennai Police limits.
In view of security reasons, the areas coming under the jurisdiction of Greater Chennai Police
including Chennai Airport, Chennai Trade Centre (Nandambakkam), Raj Bhavan (Guindy)
and route traversed by the President in Greater Chennai Police limits have been declared
as ‘RED ZONE’ and flying of Drone Cameras and any other aerial objects have been banned
as aforementioned that includes on September two and three (both days inclusive), it said.
