Second accused in attack on Bishalgarh teacher arrested

Agartala, 27th August 2025 :   Tripura police have arrested the second accused in connection with the recent assault on Rajesh Sur Chowdhury, a teacher at Bishalgarh Higher Secondary School. The arrest was made late last night in Agartala following an intensive search operation.

Police sources informed that Chowdhury was attacked on the evening of August 25 last in the Office Tilla area of Bishalgarh by a group of miscreants. The incident sparked widespread outrage across the Bishalgarh subdivision, with both political and non-political organizations demanding swift arrests and justice for the victim.

In response, Bishalgarh police launched a rigorous manhunt, leading to the apprehension of the second suspect. The accused is expected to undergo a Test Identification (TI) parade. He was produced before the court this afternoon.
