Three Held with Cannabis Worth 4 Lakh at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, 31st August 2025 :  The Government Railway Police (GRP) has apprehended three persons and seized cannabis valued at nearly 4 lakh during a late-night operation at Agartala Railway Station on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Neeraj Kumar (26) of Bihar, Jyoti Kumari (25) of Uttar Pradesh, and Hashna Begum (26) of Assam. Police recovered 29.140 kg of ganja from their possession.

Officials said the contraband was being transported to Bihar and estimated its market value to be around ₹4 lakh. A case has been registered under Agartala GRPS Case No. 2025GRP086, U/S 20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of the NDPS Act. Police confirmed that further investigation is in progress.
