Agartala, 3rd September :  Members of the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), a former insurgent group that recently signed a peace accord with the Central Government, have reportedly occupied government agricultural land in the Lichu Bagan area under Karbook Block, citing unmet promises regarding housing provisions.

Following the historic Memorandum of Settlement signed in September 2024, the Centre had assured housing and rehabilitation support for surrendered ATTF cadres. However, sources indicate that no designated land or housing arrangements have yet been provided to the group, leading to growing frustration among its members.

Today, ATTF members took possession of land belonging to the Agriculture Department in the Boro Bari locality, claiming it as a temporary shelter. The move has raised questions about the implementation of the Centre’s commitments under the peace agreement.

Local authorities, including officials from the Karbook subdivision, police personnel from Jatanbari Outpost and Natunbazar Police Station and representatives from the Agriculture department visited the site and held discussions with ATTF members to assess the situation and prevent escalation.
